League Information

NSRA Postal League and Competition Information

We offer a range of Postal Leagues and Competitions open to County Associations, NSRA Affiliated Clubs and NSRA Individual Members across a range of shooting disciplines. All Leagues are 10 rounds, normally with one round shot per fortnight.
It is a condition of entry for Club and Individual Leagues and Competitions that each shooter is an NSRA Individual Member. Team members in the County Leagues are not required to be Individual NSRA Members.

Short Range (15, 20, 25 yards or 25 metres) Rifle Leagues

0.22 Prone Rifle, 0.177 or 0.22 Air Rifle may be used.  

Short Range Leagues: 10 shots at 15, 20 or 25 yards or 25 metres per team member per round.

(610) County Short Range Team of 12 League
 
Veteran's Leagues: 10 shots at 15, 20 or 25 yards or 25 metres per team member per round.

Women's Leagues:  10 shots at 15, 20 or 25 yards or 25 metres per team member per round.

Junior Rifle League: 10 shots at 15, 20 or 25 yards or 25 metres per team member per round.
(614) County Junior Short Range Team of 4 Leagues. Competitors must be aged under 21 years on 31st December of the year of entry.
 
Individual Time Limit League (404). 10 shots at 15, 20 or 25 yards or 25 metres per round.
 
Short Range Benchrest Leagues: 20 shots at 20 or 25 yards or 25 metres per team member per round.

Long Range Rifle Leagues

A Dewar course of fire is 20 Shots at 50 yards or 50 metres and 20 shots at 100 yards. 

Long Range Leagues: (100) National L/R Team of 5, (101) Scottish L/R Team of 5, (102) Any Sights L/R Team of 5 Leagues. Dewar course of fire per team member per round.

50 Yard / 50 Metre Leagues:
(103) 50/50 Team of 5 League. Summer season. 40 shots at 50 yards or 50 metres per team member per round.
(203) 50/50 Team of 5 League. Winter season. 20 shots at 50 yards or 50 metres per team member per round.
(303) 50 Metre Individual League. Summer season. 40 shots at 50 metres per round.
(104) 50 Yard Metric Team of 4 League. Summer season. 20 shots at 50 yards per team member per round. (may be shot at 50 metres but only using MM8 targets)

Veteran's Long Range Leagues:
(105) Veteran's L/R Team of 3 League. Dewar course of fire per team member per round.
(405) Veteran's S/R Individual League. 40 shots at 50 metres per round.

Long Range Benchrest Leagues:
(191/291) Benchrest 50 Metre Any Sights Team of 3 League. 20 shots at 50 metres per team member per round.
(397) Individual Benchrest S/R Any Sights League. 40 shots at 50 metres per round.
(193) Benchrest 100 Yard Any Sights Team of 3 League. 20 shots at 100 yards per team member per round.


Multi Position Rifle Leagues (3P and Standing&Kneeling)

(140) 50 / 50 3 Position Team of 3 League. 60 shots (20 prone, 20 standing, 20 kneeling) at 50 yards or 50 metres per team member per round.
(141) Short Range Standing & Kneeling Team of 3 League. 20 shots (10 standing, 10 kneeling) at 15, 20 or 25 yards per team member per round.
(442) S/R Standing & Kneeling Individual League. 20 shots (10 standing, 10 kneeling) at 15, 20 or 25 yards per round.
(641) County S/R 3 Position Team of 3 League. 30 shots per team member per round (10 prone, 10 standing, 10 kneeling) at 15, 20 or 25 yards or 25 metres.


Lightweight Sports Rifle (LWSR) Leagues

(140/250) LWSR Standing Any Sights Team of 3 League. 20 shots at 20 yards or 25 metres per team member standing per round.
(353/453) LWSR Standing Any Sights Individual League. 20 shots at 20 yards or 25 metres standing per round.
(651) County LWSR Standing Any Sights Team of 5 League. 20 shots at 20 yards or 25 metres per team member standing per round.


Pistol Leagues

Free pistols or 0.177/0.22 air pistols may be used.

(375/470) Pistol Individual League. 20 shots at 20 yards or 50 metres per round.
(670) County 20 Yard Pistol Team of 5 League. 20 shots at 20 yards per team member per round.


Airgun Leagues

Air Rifle
(160/260) 10 Metre Air Rifle Team of 3 League. 20 shots at 10 metres per team member per round.
(660) County 10 Metre Air Rifle Team of 5 League. 30 shots at 10 metres per team member per round.

Air Pistol
(180/280) 10 Metre Air Pistol Team of 3 League. 20 shots at 10 metres per team member per round.
(680) County 10 Metre Air Pistol Team of 5 League. 30 shots at 10 metres per team member per round.

Airgun
(365/465) 10 Metre Airgun Individual League. 20 shots at 10 metres per round.
(665) County Junior 10 Metre Airgun Team of 3 League. 20 shots at 10 metres per team member per round. Competitors must be aged under 21 years on 31st December of the year of entry.


Junior Multi-Discipline League

(499) Junior Universal Individual League. 10 shots per round. Any discipline may enter (e.g. prone, airgun, benchrest, LWSR) and competitors will shoot against one another according to a declared average, irrespective of the firearm/airgun being used.


NSRA Non-League Postal Competitions

Competitions in Individual Competitions will be divided into a number of classes, according to the number of entries, of approximately equal size according to average.

Short Range (15, 20, 25 yards or 25 metres) Rifle Competitions

(130/230/231) Junior Team of 4 Short Range Competition. Summer, Winter & Spring. Single Stage. 20 shots at 15, 20 or 25 yards or 25 metres per team member per round.
(396/494) Benchrest Short Range Any Sights Individual Competition. Three courses of 40 shots at 20 or 25 yards or 25 metres.
(493) Benchrest Short Range IRON Sights Individual Competition. Three courses of 40 shots at 20 or 25 yards or 25 metres. Iron Sights must be used.

Long Range Rifle Competitions

(302) 100 Yard Any Sights Individual Competition.  Two courses of 60 shots at 100 yards.  Each course may be fired as three series of 20 shots.  Each series of 20 shots may be fired on separate days within the overall shooting period.
(304) 50 Metre Any Sights Individual Competition. Two courses of 60 shots at 50 Metres.  Each course may be fired as three series of 20 shots.  Each series of 20 shots may be fired on separate days within the overall shooting period.

Long Range Benchrest Competitions
(392) Benchrest 50 Metre Any Sights Individual Competition. Three courses of 40 shots at 50 metres.
(395) Benchrest 100 Yard Any Sights Individual Competition. Three courses of 40 shots at 100 yards.
 

Lightweight Sports Rifle (LWSR) Competitions

Cards for each course must be shot on a single day.
(350/450) LWSR Standing Any Sights Individual Competition. Three courses of 30 shots at 20 yards or 25 metres standing. Cards for each course must be shot on a single day.
(351/451) LWSR Prone Any Sights Individual Competition. Three courses of 30 shots prone at 15, 20 or 25 yards on 1505CS, 2005CS, 2505CS Targets. Cards for each course must be shot on a single day.
(352/452) LWSR Standing Timed Any Sights Individual Competition. Three courses of 30 shots at 20 yards or 25 metres standing. No sighting shots are permitted after the first competition series has been fired. Each course of 30 shots consists of the following:

  • 2 series of 5 shots, each in 150 seconds
  • 2 series of 5 shots, each in 20 seconds
  • 2 series of 5 shots, each in 10 seconds

Pistol Competitions

(370) Tiger Trophy Individual Competition. Single Stage. 30 shots at 20 yards. 0.177/0.22 air pistols may be used.  Free pistols may be used. There is no minimum trigger weight.

Airgun Competitions

(360/460) 10 Metre Air Rifle Individual Competition. Two courses of 60 shots at 10 metres. Rifles must conform to ISSF Rules. Match crossbows may be used instead of air rifles.
(380/480) 10 Metre Air Pistol Individual Competition. Two courses of 60 shots at 10 metres, 5 shots per target. Pistols must conform to ISSF Rules.
